little girl it's been a busy day

I took Karmen to the vets this afternoon, which is situated in our local Pets At Home Store. The lady Vet was delightful and really did give Karmen a thorough check up. She said that she didn't feel that Karmen was 11 weeks, as indicated by the birth date the shop gave me, but more likely to be coming up to 9 weeks - either that or she was a very small runt of the litter. I did have the same sneaky feeling so was relieved that she too noted that. However, on a positive note - Karmen was the perfect lady, well behaved, polite, purred and was given a clean bill of health.

The Vet also gave Karmen her first jab and I have to take her back on the 3rd January 2009 for her 2nd jab. I asked if there would be any side effects and she replied because of her size the injection might make her drowsy for a few days. How true Karmen has slept solidly since she had her jab at 4.pm!! I have put her carrier on the settee and left it open so that she can venture out when she is ready.

What an adorable kitten! When I was a child we had a little black and white kitten just like yours. She lived to be 14 years old.
Our current cat is orange and white very soft and fluffy and we have had it for 15 years. He is called Harry because my son found him in a green plastic Harrods bag and brought him home. Ali has recently done somw cat sitting as I am sure you read on her blog!

I hope Karmen lives as long - the vet was concerned that she was so tiny but for a tiny kitten she is very lively, LOVES cuddles and has nearly had the Christmas tree over!! plus she has now discovered my goldfish.. it's like having a toddler in the house again :)

She's a cutie. Why Karmen?

Karl chose the name Carmen from the opera and we just changed the c to a K - I like the description given to Carmen..free, independent and mistress of all her decisions. Our Karmen is only a tiny little lady but she is already displaying those characteristics :)

Oh Liz I've also got two fantail goldfish which are called Hector and ZaZa from the children's programme 'Hector's House' - all my Christmas presents from Nigel
