a little bit of snow and the UK comes to a grinding halt!!! The schools in our area are closed so as I have been uploading these photos I can hear the children next door in their garden having a wonderful time :)
The problem is, we teachers travel such a distance to get to work - no teacher wants to live near 'their' children - and if we can't get there, there is a whole knock-on effect!
I can't imagine closing schools because of bad weather. We never have that in SA - but then we don't have the extreme weather conditions! Even when its PIPING hot, school goes on! :-)
Oh how I can relate to those pictures. Our kids just went back to school after a week of the lovely snow and ice. We are still thawing out, but God is indeed good. He is so creative isn't He? Hope you are doing well! Blessings!
Hi Judith, That is what my backyard looks like too. However, since it snows often here in the winter, we are prepared with huge plows for the roads and shovels and snowblowers for our driveways.
The snow looks beautiful, although, most likely a problem for some. It's snowing here in New Jersey too, but I think we're probably more used to it. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Just saw on the tv about all your snow. Must be terrible to have to drive to work or so. And yes the kids will love it. Good luck shoveling

Snow is only good for children's play, photographs, and snow ice cream!
Snow brings a beautiful quietness. I love it! Your yard looks peaceful.

... thou shalt not covet thy friend in Englands snow ...
Your weather is making headlines over here! You poor things, you're just not equipped to deal with it. Hope you'll be back to normal soon!
