ABC's of the Word - Be

to read other ABC's of the word click on the logo.

Today's letter is B

Not only is it ABC's of the Word but it is also my 100th post!! WOW However, for me there is only one Bible verse for the letter B and that is taken from Psalm 46:10 'Be still and know that I am God'.

I once read that no matter how fast the wheel of bicycle is turning that right in the centre of the hub there is stillness. I like that illustration and can easily apply it to my own life - I am many BE's and if I take each spoke of the wheel and put a BE on it ie. BE a wife, BE a mother, BE a daughter, BE a sister, BE a friend, BE a minister, BE a listener, BE a volunteer, BE a follower of Christ, Be a disciple, BE an employee, BE a workmate, BE a Community Chaplain, BE a neighbour and so and so. I'm sure you can apply the same to your life. Well I can BE because right at the centre of my hub I have learnt to BE still in God's presence and acknowledge Him daily as Lord of my life.

One of my favourite singers is Aled Jones and here he is singing 'Be Still in the presence of the Lord'.

Good morning Judith, what a wonderful song...I've never heard of him...will have to check him out further.
Ps. 46:10 is so often a foundational truth in my spirit. I've always thought this life should be so easy...like a child sitting with Him each morning...in quiet, soaking Him in...then I would be prepared to go out. hmmmm

Judith I pray you have a grand day with Him!

One of my favorites....Be still and KNOW God.

I want to know Him more than yesterday. Thank you for the neat illustration of the center of the wheel.

Lovingly,
Yolanda

I love the illustration of the bike wheel and I really love the verse! What a great reminder for me this week as I feel like my life is spinning around me. Funny, I just typed those exact words to a friend in an quick "catch up" email before popping over to read the verses posted today! A God thing, I know.
I will check out the video from home, blocked at work, but eager to hear!
Have a blessed day!

Hi Judith, what a great illustration you provided for us today. You captured my imagination with "be still" and the bicycle tire. Thanks for sharing!

Is Aled Jones Welsh? I am not familiar with him but he has a wonderful voice. Hope to hear more.

Thanks, Lana

That was absolutely beautiful. Made me want to run away to a monastary (did I spell that right?). I coordinated a retreat at one for parish nurses a few years back involving all denominations and the monks singing was breath-taking and this song reminded me of that event for some reason.

Thank you for sharing!
