ABC's of the Word

Today's letter is Z

Zechariah 4:10
"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbable's hand. For these seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world."

Many of the older Jews were disheartened when they realized this new temple would not match the size and beauty of the previous one. But God was thrilled with this beginning because it signified a new start in the people's faithfulness to him. God desires sincere hearts.
What you do for God may seem insignificant at the time but God rejoices in what is right, not necessarily in what is big. Be faithful in the small opportunities. Begin where you are, doing what you can, and accept God's pleasure over your smallest steps in the right direction.

What wonderful Fatherly, holy love---adoring the small things that glorify Him. I tell you, God is building some thoughts in me with so many scriptures and conversations about being a child...the simple, in obedience moments before Him, to honor Him. Praying you have a grand day with Him!
I love that William Penn quote.

What a wonderful scripture! I think so often we think that if we're not doing something BIG for the Lord then we're not doing anything. This is a great reminder.

Thanks and God bless,

I love how His word is our plumb line.

It keeps us in the Zone. ;-)

Lovingly,

God never asks for BIG; He wants faithful.

What a beautiful word you chose to share with us this morning Judith. God loves when we make our small beginnings. Makes me think too about a plumb line that sets the straight true line to guide anyone who is building...

What a great verse, Judith! This is a reminder we seem to need often - every step taken, word spoken, or deed accomplished - no matter how small it seems, is an opportunity to serve and be a witness for Him.

Blessings Judith...What a unique "Z"...it's obvious with Zechariah but Zerubbable's hand...the plumb line...awesome connection! That this represented the people's faithfulness to God...starting fresh! May yours & mine small steps in the right direction please our Lord today! Such an encouragement to be faithful in the small things!
Thank you for sharing this truth!
