Christingle Service

After all the ladies hardwork yesterday preparing the Christingle candles this evenings Service was a great success. It was a delight to welcome some of the Scouts, Brownies, Rainbows and Family Service children and, of course, the highlight is when each child and adult is presented with their candle then the lights are turned off and we sing a carol holding our lit Christingle candles.

One of my favourite parts about the Christmas season are the Carols by Candlelight! The flickering candles, and the voices ... of course as a little girl the Salvation Army band always to come around and played carols on their old instruments - I loved that. They don't come anymore .... such a pity!

This looks gorgeous Judy, I'm surprised Health and Safety allowed you to actually light them though!

Thank you Janet - The SA Band's in the UK tend now to play at supermarkets - its warmer!!!

Hi Ali - we have to give a H & S talk and have buckets of water, flanels etc on standby!! but we only have them lit for one carol then they have to put them out...boring :(

I love Christingle services Judy, they show so much love and it's easy for the girls to understand.
